No breaks. He should consider himself lucky nothing worse has happened. I used to host with Dreamhost, and Servage, that was back in the day when I was fucking around and seeing what I could do, I wasn't very serious and could fold shop tommorow if I needed to, that was then, this is now.
When I saw my traffic keep growing and letters coming stating they couldn't handle the loads I was putting out, I shopped around and considered my options carefully, this was getting to be serious business and my bandwidth needs outgrew most virtual options.
The very first thing I did was park my ass over at whois.sc (domaintools.com now) and start looking up various big name domains and see who they host through. I checked a few out and stuck with my
current host and have NEVER been happier. I honestly can't tell you that i've lost a minute of sleep ever wondering if my sites are online or not, it's that good.
Anyways, I know the frustration of an incompetent host, on the other hand, he might be at the crossroads I was at years ago, and might need to make a decision going forward.
