This is to buy and run in my office, not in a data center and is for very highly cpu intensive tasks that don't spawn multiple processes very well.
Top choice right now is an HP ProLiant ML310 with a quad core xeon 3ghz processor
8 GB RAM
2 x 750 GB SAS HDs in Raid 1

HP wants about $3500 for this

Anyone have any other boxes I should look at?
