Times like these you have to focus on getting quality traffic and growing the traffic you're getting. Then it may or may not make sales, but if it doesn't it's because everyone else isn't making any sales either. Then when it picks up you'll have all that traffic that now suddenly is converting and things will pick up again.
You can't change the economy to make people buy but at least you can put yourself in a position that when the economy does change you can benefit.
The worst thing you can do is quit but I guess there is always a point where if you're not making any money you still need to eat.
