She went in to film the Dr. but really she was there to show life inside North Korea.
It was fucking AMAZING. The N. Korean Gov't is truly fucked up. They keep those people in TOTAL isolation from everything. On the show one of the camera men took a picture of a statue of Kim Jong Il, and the guard went ape shit.
And after the Dr. healed the people and took off their eye bandages. Each one thanked the "dear leader" and not the Dr. and each time someone could see again, they looked for the picture of Kim Jong Il and cried to it, and thanked him, and the entire room full of N. Koreans would all cheer.
They did that... EVERY SINGLE TIME a bandage came off. And the guy did like 1000 cataract surgeries.
Lisa Ling even went to a few of the patients houses, to follow a few of the people from pre cataracts to post surgery, and all the do for entertainment is gather a house full of 10-15 people into one small plain living room and they all sit around and watch one of the children perform songs and dances about Kim Jong Il.
Fucked up.

I saw that, definitely one of the most interesting documentaries I've ever seen.
