Yes, they won.
We are closer than ever to living in a police state. We have given up some of our freedoms to be safer. It even changed the way people bank around the world and now your transactions are being watched. The US government has assumed complete and total control over the people and keep them living in fear and use that card when necessary to take away more freedoms.
As you said, just talking about an attack strikes fear into the country.
Look at the bright side, at least we are fighting them "over there" so we don't have to fight them here. At least that is what our fuck-wit great leader said.
