The mags you see outsell everything else here in Europe, is not porn. It mags like FHM, M and Maxim (
www.maxim.co.uk ) - Like Playboy, its a lifestyle/fad Mag that use the sexy stuff to kick the doors in. If you want to make a Mag today, you need a design that you can leave on the desk without being labeled as a pervert
But your biggest problem is probably that you are in the US - you got one screwed up set of rules of what you can and cant when it comes to nudity.
Its all about thinking outside the box, and knowing what the users want before they know it themselves
