true, i see skimming is where the difference really is, as well as sponsors have direct control over the amount of free content given out.
but like you say, that man who types playboy and do not know anything else likely is from a a much older generation.
the new generation is already exposed to rapidshare, megaupload, warez, torrents, and know where to get the entire site rips. no need to take out CC, just click the torrent or rapidshare, and download 5gigs worth of pictures and movies from one entire paysite...., in a matter of several minutes....this is the new age. IMO, this is much more damaging to a company's bottom line. basically, your contents are now worth much much less because of the freeloaders, and no real way to enforce this....therefore wil lbe recorded as cost of gods and sales, since going after it is likely to fail and lot of time and resource will be spent.
tube sites act as a "quickie", people who are too lazy to download all those files through rapidshare or torrents.....imho, if the site is full of 30second clips, it would not do very well in terms of growth and traffic....but prove me wrong its just from inference that those sites are not satisifying for a "quickie" for the new generation
