Well that is spam, yes but would it even be productive? I mean wouldn't it make more sense to add a banner to your affiliate program to your signature (following the GFY rules for signatures on size, length, etc.) and instead post on other topics, helping people out, answering their questions. Have meaningful, actual interaction with others and I'm most positive you will see better results.
