What is The History of PPS and X-Sales?
I've only been in adult for less than two years. So, I'm curious, when did PPS and X-Sales start? Around what timeframe?
Was there one specific company who pioneered it? Was there one specific company who pioneered it and then a bunch of others followed suit? Did it start with a more reasonable amount like $35 and then some comapnies pushed it to $50, then $75 and so on?
Did it begin with no cross-sells, then some companies went with unchecked cross-sells, then some others pushed it to pre-checked cross-sells, then some went with hidden pre-checked cross-sells? Then some went with x-sells under the submit button?
If you know when it started, rather than just give a year can you give some other events that surrounded it? Did it start as the result of something else dying out? Like, when dialers died out, PPS came along? When broadband came along? X-sells came along? Was there a correlation to anything?
As a relatively new adult webmaster, I'd simply like to educate myself on the history of it and I thought some others may like to know as well.
