Me? I don't care either, but I do find it a tad hypocritical. Even the man in your sig sees and is embarrased of the behaviour and attitudes of blacks today.
We should be working on more INTEGRATION instead of SEGREGATION. Even some of the quotes on the website are counter intuitive, "Because we know the 20 million African Americans online need tools to build and foster community" and "prefer online news and information from the Black perspective." Black perspective? Foster community? What was the point of fighting for equal and civil rights, if all they want to do is continue building up a wall around themselves?
There is BET (Black Entertainment Televison) and no one bats an eye. What if there was WET (White Entertainment Television)? All hell would break loose or an outcry at the very least.
Look at movie remakes like Guess Who's Coming To Dinner/Guess Who or The Honeymooners where the characters are switched from white to black. Did anyone bat an eye? Probably not... What do you think would happen if the took the Jeffersons or Good Times or Sanford and Son and made movies out of those changing all the black characters into white characters? All hell would break loose or an outcry at the very least.
I will go you one better with proof. In some of Eddie Murphy's movies who goes into makeup characters as white people. No biggie right? It's funny? No one bats an eye... But when Robert Downey Jr. does the same thing, going from white to black, what happened? There was an indignant outcry over the whole thing.
It is really sad to see how far the world has come with the battles fought for civil rights and equalities, only to be used to change racism and segregation into new forms.
