I don't think this is an industry-specific problem. It's a billing regulation issue, not an adult industry issue.

In that respect, it's already regulated for the majority of us. Like a previous poster stated, if you're generating under $150k/month, you couldn't get away with certain activities. Start grossing a million per month or more and people will start turning a blind eye. Money buys leverage.

This is just the latest incarnation of what's been going on since the beginning of the internet. Lots of industry people made millions in the mid to late 90's when there were substantially less billing regulations than there are now. Due to their abuses, regulations were imposed and some card companies even got out of the billing for the industry (American Express). Now there are some who are gaming the current regulations or lack thereof. Banks and/or merchant providers could pull the plug if they wanted to. They're not unaware of what's going on.

As the economy worsens and the free porn revolution continues, certain activities will increase to offset falling revenues.
