They tried pulling the same stunt last year with taxicabs in New York...they were complaining that some customers would come into their cabs carrying bottles of wine that they had bought from the store (unopened and in a bag).
IMO if they don't want to do their job then they can either quit or start their own store / cab service that doesn't allow/sell alcohol.
Since when did employees get to make the rules?
