Sure you can steal links from other TGPs but:
* you may be in breach of copyright law
* these sites are unlikely to trade traffic with you
* you will damage your reputation.
So sure it is an option
Just like it's an option to steal someone's site design or their content! The fact that it's easy to do, does not make it an ethical or sensible strategy. The TGP biz is all about relationships do you really want to end-up with none of the major players wanting to do business with you?
