Just saw this and thought it was worth posting. A federal appeals court today upheld a ruling that struck down part of the Patriot Act as being unconstitutional. The part struck down prevented anyone who got a national security letter from the government requesting sensitive material from speaking out. This basically meant the government could go to an ISP and request private customer information and records then force the ISP to remain quiet about it. The court found that this forced gag order violated the first amendment.
I personally feel that about 98% of the Patriot Act needs to be tossed out so any victory against it is a good one.
