Where to live in 2009: the EU or US?

Seeing as the majority of clients are from the US -- and the complete randomness of the USD exchange rate -- it seems more and more attractive to relocate to the US.

To all those who are saying that the EU economy is stronger, go ahead and check your AdWords invoice. I don't recall VAT always being at 21%, do you ?

Unless Bush doesn't do anything too stupid during his final days in the office, I think the US will recover. It has recovered before, while this is the first real crisis for the EU since it's rapid growth.

EU Advantages:

Taxes. You can setup an offshore company in Romania or any other new EU country and pay next to nothing. This can't be done in the US (at least not 100% legally).

More "whales". I'm not sure about you, but most of the whales I get from my affiliate efforts are from the EU. On the other hand, being in the US and catching an EU whale would actually be more profitable.

Amsterdam. Nuff said.

Lots of culture. Not that I care too much about it, but last summer I had a eurotrip by car, saw so many beautiful historical sights. And there's something to it when you travel 200 miles and get a totally different language.

..... what are your advantages for living in the EU ?

US Advantages

Obama? I don't know, I haven't lived there.

Anyone lived both in the US and EU ? Share your experience please.
