Where I live the winter is mostly rain and cold weather with some morning ice. A couple of weeks a year we will get some really cold weather and maybe a couple of inches of snow for a day or two. It has been nasty for a week now and dumping on us the last couple of days. Yesterday we had about 6-8 inches of snow and they said it would warm up and melt off today. So this morning I wake up and it had snowed another 4-5 inches last night and is still falling. It is amazing to see. I can't get out my front door because the snow is almost a foot deep and has so much ice in it is frozen.
I have lived in this area since I was 5 years old (with a few breaks to live in other states for short periods of time) and have never seen anything like this.
I'm charging the batteries on my camera so hopefully I can get some pics soon.
PS. The whole waiting until the last minute to do Christmas shopping thing is officially biting me in the ass now. At this rate everyone is getting icicles for Christmas.
