I'm not sure if unique IP's are sufficient enough for the search engines if you want to start a blog network or must it be all on unique hosts AND Ip's?

Ideally I would like to host with one reliable hosting provider and get seperate unique IP's with that host only and not have to sign up with dozens of hosting companies. Will this hurt me in SEO or do I have to get new hosts as well?
