I went with the whole Linux Ubuntu thing a few months ago with an extra laptop I had lying around. Stupid programs that I use didn't work so instead of re-loading XP Professional, I re-load with TinyXP Christmas Edition 2008.
My laptop is blazing fast and all the programs I use work. The WINDOWS folder is only 600mb.
