This is what tube sites are doing that offer anything other than teaser clips. Period.
They are taking hundreds of millions of dollars out of membership sales across the board in order to make just a few sales.
There are a ton of people that can get off just fine on "Tube Quality" full length vids. (licensed or not)
These guys would have bought a membership somewhere.
Not any more.
Those days are over with for them.
Now the connoisseur that needs to get off on a certain niche or even micro niche, yes they might buy something. This is who we (the membership sites) are making money on now.
But all those other generic buyers that used to sign up to different sites in order to get full movie downloads, we are losing those sales right now. Day by day.
Congrats to all the winners!

Great post. I think this often gets lost when people site current examples of free services being successful. It's like slash and burn farming in the rain forest. Idiots take the most fertile land on Earth and burn it so they can farm for three years, after which the ground is left barren. If they used sustainable methods they could farm there for generations. Like BV said, sure, Craigslist makes money giving a service away for free, but it killed a much bigger business to do so.
I know everyone seems to revel in the death of the newspapers for some reason but sites like MSNBC and CNN don't do any investigations like newspapers do. News websites just repackage AP reports in a colorful format with pictures and video. Newspaper investigations are the only things that keep the government somewhat honest.
Free comes with a cost.
I've often posted this and have yet to get a response. How many tube sites can the adult market bear? I bet it's less than 100. Do you think you'll be able to steal market share from tube8 when you are buying the same dirt cheap crap content as the next guy. Or stealing the same scenes? Nope.
So unless you own youporn or tube8 you shouldn't be so excited about the tube revolution because the market will only sustain a handfull of them.
