You are not getting the run around. If you look at most shared hosting packages they do not or will not offer ffmpeg because of the bandwith issue/server loads when running tube sites. However there are some companys that do offer shared hosting which include ffmpeg, but they are not very good. If you are gonna run a tube with a lot of hosted movies and push a lot of traffic you would be better of getting a dedicated server. You can get away with doing a tube site on shared hosting if you are only gonna use embeded flvs or plugs to other sites and some short hosted movies., and even then if you generate a lot of traffic your site is going run slow. If you are gonna go for a shared host that offers ffmpeg then google the tubescripts and they normally suggest a shared host that offers ffmpeg, but most of them are pretty crap hosts..
