Crusade to shut down Cheating Traffic Brokers!!!
Well well well. It looks like the joke is on me. After years of buying traffic here there and everywhere, it seems as if I over looked one very small but critical feature of my PRIVATE tracking software......
AND NOW I AM MOTHER FUCKING PISSED!
Ok I took my chances after reading GFY posts about buying traffic being a scam, and if it was good why would they sell it,etc.
Very valid points over the years but since I purchased traffic from various places all at once it was hard to tell what was converting and what wasn't.
now being a tad bit wiser, and seeing all of the desperate anitcs being perpetrated by desperate people who run desperate companies, I feel like there are nothing but leaches and scam artists everywhere in this business.
There must be new and clever ways to cheat people being dreamed up 24/7
I was tracking 1000,s of clicks from two popular companies who GFY should be very familiar with, and I happen to notice clicks, but never paid attention to the "T.S." column of the tracking software log.
I smelled a rat a few weeks ago and phoned the owner of one traffic company, only to be reassured that he was honest and cared about clients and would never engage in deception.
The reason I called the owner of the company in the first place was because I purchased an ad spot with his company and was receiving clicks when my ad had not even shown up live on the site I purchased the ad from. More on that later.
Before I name names and call out these compaines I would ask that if anyone else is having questions about the integrity of the traffic they have purchased recently please feel free to contact me because if there are many others that are receiving THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of clicks but no increase in join form hits, or sign ups then it is clear that we must do everything in our power to shut these leaches and scamming fucks out of this business.
The first step is identifying the scammers and bumping beware threads all over the webmaster boards until they are forced to shut down, and try to re open under a different name and platform.
When I look at the precious business revenue I have spent on traffic over the years it makes me want to cry. We all know that google, and yahoo have had lawsuit after lawsuit filed regarding there involvement in click fraud, but I assert that there are many johnny come lately companies that have taken a page or two out of their(google, yahoo) books and are engaging in massive amounts of click fraud on a daily basis!
I think I have enough evidence if I post my tracking logs but I want to hear from others who may have similiar questions.
last thought... I have been in the business for 5 years, I know there are senior people in this business who will read the thread and say thats what you get Newb, or will simply brush it off like I am too smart to let it happen to me,etc.
If you are one of those arrogant high on the food chain 135,000 posts people please spare us your sarcasm and jokes. Its never funny being scammed out of your hard earned money.
This thread is for anyone who has been in the business for a short time ecspecially newbies and gullible types like myself who give too many sincere "sounding" people the benefit of the doubt.
I guess the tip off for me should have been when these companies list a site having 65% USA traffic 14% canadian traffic, then you go to alexa and find the site has
60% turkish traffic and 35 % Czech republic traffic, and 5% vietnamese traffic... you know who you are, and you should be ashamed.
Anyway enough ranting now, I am going back to my logs look this over a bit more just to be sure and I suggest in the mean time everyone who buys traffic from smiley faced brokers, go out and get you some reliable tracking software, and check your stats with a fine tooth comb.
more on this later
