I really think that would work the best at least for the old school fans of the franchise, and it would not be that hard to pull off either, have it set in the future (as in our present) and the team has disbanded, but get pulled back together for one last big 'mission'
But knowing hollyweird, they will prolly cast it full of young actors, and have it pre-nam and then maybe nam era
