I think I confused some in this thread judging by that there three or four of you who responded to my second post in thread. I was hoping someone would reply to the other thing I said, though, which I found more important.
In any case, I apologize for not making myself more clear. My point in the second post I made, is that one should stay away from processed food if they can.
What I neglected to mention is that red meat isn't good for you in general. Saturated fats, found in foods such as red meat, is directely linked to the same diseases I mentioned earlier. That is why it's recommended to eat white meat instead. However, that doesn't mean one should start eating white meat day and night either. Limiting your animal fats intake is best. I personally try to keep it to no more than a serving 3x a week. I can get the same vitamins found in meat (protein, calcium, iron, zinc, and vitamins B12 and D) through other foods like soy milk, nuts, vegetables, etc.
