Here's a good price guide for you:

$75/hour = Friend price only.
$100/hour = Standard price for quality coding.
$125-150/hour = You want it done urgently and the coder must push other stuff aside to make space for you.

Sure, you can pay less for coders who perhaps live in foreign countries (who can still be quality coders), or less if you put them on monthly retainer or pay per project, but generally, if you are paying less than $50/hour then expect to get what you pay for unless you're lucky
