You say that dogfight went away in the 70's ? What about January 4, 1989 when U.S. F-14s shoot down 2 Libyan jet fighters over Mediterranean ?

When other countries develop stealth technology as well you will see more dog fighting coming into the picture again as pilots will have to rely on their senses and perhaps satellite imagery to see what's around them if they can't see it on radar.
In regards to your comment about my idea dead in the water, it was not really an idea, just an observation.
And again at my original posting I at no time compared the F22 to the Euro fighter but more the F16 to the Euro. The F 22 is not deployed widely yet either
That was twenty years ago. These days they push a button from miles away and boom.

So what your saying is if we didn't have stealth technology, didn't have air superiority, and only fought in dog fights... Then your plane would be the best? At that point, a Cesena has a fighting chance.
