The mandibular whatsit though - they did say if I've still pain in 2 weeks, it requires invasive complicated surgery to rectify Don't quite understand what that injury is, but it's related to the top of the mandible not being able to descend when the jaw opens wide, which is why it's painful as heck after opening 20mm
i broke a rib in high school playing lacrosse, it definitely takes more than 3 weeks to get over the pain... so i feel ya, i've been there. its more of movements of your upper body that make it hurt, not just constant aching pain so maybe thats a plus to look forward to??

as far as the surgery thing, best of luck, hope it heals correctly. mine was a lower rib, they just said i couldn't move for 2 months or do anything contact wise.
