I once saw a movie where the alarm triggered a complicated series of events, the final one being the bed rising and tipping its occupant out onto the floor.
Would that do the trick?
Then again this guy once told me he fell out of bed and broke his jaw on the post, but didn't realise until he woke up the next morning.....
