The kid who sent the picture probably didn't even know he was doing anything illegal, because of course no one was being harmed in any way. In a sane society, acts such as this where there is clearly no harm done to anyone would not be illegal, or at the very least would not be so severe a crime that the individual could have his life ruined as punishment. Another problem is that, at least in America, we seem to think that the best way to deal with anyone who, in any way, steps out of line is to throw them in prison. We literally imprison people caught with pot, or people like this kid, right alongside murderers, rapists, and gang members. It's absolutely insane, not to mention inhumane.
