Thing things you have to put into perspective are:
#1 - Animal cruelty is a firmly established precursor to human abuse and physical abuse crimes. See FBI quote above.
#2 - The video and the acts were all premeditated. That kid spent time and effort plotting what you see.
#3 - Naturally, this case has had more attention that other abuse cases, but that's again his own fault: He published the video in search of attention, and he's got it.
There is absolutely no doubt that he deserves everything that comes his direction.
