I have a good-sized pond in my yard. For years, I kept koi in it. There'd be raccoons around alot in the summer. Heck one night..momma was out there with three babies chatting away trying to teach them to fish.
Finally got tired of feed the raccoons, otters and eagles the koi so now I buy about 50 small trout every Spring. Most of them are gone by late Fall.

Ding, Ding, Ding....we have a winner.
Most often when Raccoons are out in the daytime it is because there are babies in the den. Safer to leave them alone during daylight when their natural disposition is to sleep, and there are less preditors looking for dinner.
PK - Any eagle pics from the pond ?
How can these guys scare you
