No -- If someone dies, they may not get counted, if someone even knows about it. (i.e. shot in head and left in ditch). There are places in Colombia (kinda like "the jungle" in LA) where cops don't go...Too dangerous.
I agree that it's MUCH less dangerous than it used to be, but just be careful (like anywhere else in the world), because it's true what PornGuy said...
