judy, i'm from canada as well, altho the other side of it. always heard montreal is awesome and i can't wait to visit. as for your post and your website...
first, get ready for varying opinions while using forums...keep in mind that you don't know any of these people, and they don't know you, help could simply be bs and someone else's comment they made in half a minute might actually help.
keep your day job, not that you will fail at your website, but you'll want all the money you can get for ad's etc, you can't count on a bunch of affiliates to send you traffic, hopefully they will, but if they don't you need to have a back-up plan.
