The reason that the President's children attend a private school is as much about security than it is education. It would be a logistical nightmare to have them attend a public school.
And two by your ranting I can only guess you have never actually been a teacher. If so you probably wouldnt make the idiotic comment they knock off at 2 and take the Summers off. The teachers I know get in about 7 to get set up for the day and leave at 4. Hell, school doesnt even get out until 3. (add on time for grading papers at night) Plus they get paid for 9 months worth of work and then have to take PT jobs during the summer, if they are lucky enough to have that schedule and are not on tracks where that "break" is spread into 4, 3 week mini "breaks" which doesnt allow them to get that extra PT job. On top of it they have to deal with 30 plus kids throughout the day. Something I sure as hell know I wouldnt want to do. Oh yeah, all while working with shrinking budgets. My kids teacher brings in her own supplies for the kids, paid for out of her pocket. Say what you want about school admins, politicians etc but directing your anger towards the teachers on the front line every day is flat out ignorant.
