People owning assault weapons is fucking stupid, period. There is no reason Joe Redneck should ever own an M16. So he can shoot deer? fuck that.

For arguments sake, let's say Joe Redneck is completely responsible with this gun, jerks off to the firepower, locks it up at night, etc. The problem is the fact that the M16 is available to Joe Redneck. When it's available to Joe Redneck, it's also available to anyone and before we know it, banks are getting robbed by people holding M16's, cops are getting shot at, gangs are shooting up neighborhoods like war zones.

It's bad enough there are more guns than people on the streets, so the damage is long done there. Banning regular guns (which should have been done before the damage) wouldn't do shit now because the black market would have no problem supplying criminals for many, many years even if another gun is never made in the world.

I'm glad Obama is pissing off the rednecks now to prevent our streets from eventually turning into war zones.
