I gotta disagree with you a bit here. Freesites means review sites, right? Review sites don't tell people about affiliate programs and if they did, I don't think the surfer would care. They just want to see porn.
Are you saying a surfer sees a site from a link and they go "Hey, I saw a review site once that told me about these free sites and how people make money when I sign up for a site that they referred me to but I want to make sure no one but the site owner makes any money from me so I'm going to re-type this web-address in"?

Steve, first of all you are completely wrong. They DO tell the surfer what affiliate program the site belongs to.
Secondly, I've been in the freesite and affiliate business longer than any of those guys that have review sites, and to your theoretical statements here...I say go to REAL surfer forums and do some reading that these poor ignorant surfers write there. Newsflash: They DO type in urls. Just like I always have done as a guy who always knew how affiliate programs work.
For instance, when I wanted to buy music gear...I would always sign up for the affiliate program first and THEN buy a new amp or guitar with my link and get some of my money back.
And no, I'm not trying to make a "drama" thread. This is business. Not drama. And it happens to be my specialty. If you don't agree, who cares? Continue on. It doesn't really matter anyway now.
But what I am saying is the exact reason why so many of us are hurting as affiliates...and meanwhile on the paysite side a lot of us just keep growing and growing.
How?
Type-ins. At least that's what's happening for me. Surfers have been given the keys to the kingdom as far as the affiliate model and the free site model goes.
