I did not vote for a "hand out" - I voted for taxes that were fair across the board, like they were under Clinton. A time where the country was doing great, there was a surplus, the middle and lower class were taxed at a lower rate, and the rich were getting richer, regardless of their slightly higher tax rate.

I also voted to loosen the grip of big oil that seems to fully control Washington, even though they were squashing progress on alternate fuels and alternate vehicles, while lining the pockets of the Bush and Cheney family businesses, while funding Middle Eastern terrorists. The EV-1 switched out for the Hummer for example.

I voted for someone who believes, like myself, that health care in a civilized country should be a right, and not a privilege for the rich - and I personally don't give a shit if taxes go up to fund this. The war in Iraq cost us WAY more than healthcare, and guess who will be paying for that stupidity for generations to come. A fraction of that money (that we also did not have to spend) could have been paying for our health care instead - as well as thousands of more productive uses.

Asshole Republicans should just shut the fuck up for a year or two, and hope we pull out of this mess. I didn't hear Rush crying about all of the wreckless spending that was going on for the past 8 years (6 of which the Republitards ran EVERYTHING) - so he can suck it now as well!

George Bush and his administration ruled over 8 of the worst years the US has faced in modern times, and it's going to take a LOT of work to reverse the shitstorm.

And as far as "evil corporations" goes - what have the banks and mortgage companies been doing with our money for the past 6 to 8 unregulated years - what has Wall Street been doing? What has Haliburton been doing? Yes, there are such things as bad corporations. Another reason Obama was voted in.

Obama won the election by a good margin. Can you imagine what that margin would have been if he was a white guy? This country voted for change this year, in a big way. It is funny to read so many of you losers bitch about Obama, like he is the problem - like he is the reason we are in the boat we're now in. It's really just pathetic.
