If someone close to you was raped, you'd actually go kill the rapist even if they were caught and convicted? You'd victimize your family a second time by possibly going to jail for the rest of your life, effectively completely removing yourself from your family's life, for vegenance? You'd end up punishing your family and changing absolutely nothing. The crime would still have happened, your family member still victimized, all you'd have done is compound the situation to satisfy some juvenile vegance clause. Surely you're smarter than that.
