I was pretty directionless and had no idea what a gallery, tgp, link list, whatever was... Took me a 2 months to make my first sale and almost a year to get to the point where I had at least a sale a day...
I did quit my dayjob within 2 weeks of that first sale though
Most my income after that came from freelance programming for adult companies for a few years...
