like Sly said, it's a one price all you can download DVD paysite - there are many of them, easy sites to put together if you have a couple hundred grand - i don't know how many members Videobox has but it's definitely in the tens of thousands. These new premium channels aren't VOD - it's an extra 17.95 per month to get 12 Evil Angel OR VIVID DVD's a month. I don't think Evil Angel or VIVID would do this if they're getting a good deal on the %. Videobox can do fairer and better deals with studios because they are not so reliant on affiliate traffic.
The problem with VOD is that no matter how much traffic they have you are competing with a thousand other producers/studios sharing the same surfers - pie gets sliced up pretty thin, plus you're making how much on a revshare basis? 25%? 30%? pretty small cut.
