Atheism is no different than any organized religion, in that you are putting your faith in something that you do not know for a fact is true. You don't know that there is no god any more than a religious wacko knows that there is one. All anyone can do is speculate, and that is what you are doing.
As for not believing in Buddha, Siddhārtha Gautama was a real person and a philosopher, his life is not exactly up to interpretation of whether or not you believe in him. Use your head...
