There are alot of things that kids in America are not 'allowed' to do or say, and it has nothing to do with trying to squash their 'constitutional rights'... it has to do with their age and their ability to understand things as an adult normally would. We don't let kids vote, we don't let them live on their own, we don't let them join the armed forces, etc.

Also, like said before, Freedom Of Speech does not equal Freedom to say anything you want whenever and wherever you want. For example, you cannot yell 'Fire' in a crowded theater, or incite riots with 'speech'.

And invariably, we as adults, know what certain things said can lead to better than a child.... that's why we monitor it and 'censor' it. When they are old enough, then they are allowed all the same rights as adults.
