well, if i was running a dating site affiliate program (which i soon will be) and an affiliate was bringing high volume but low member value relative to pay-per-sale, i would contact that affiliate and let them know what's happening.
For example, if my traffic is only bringing, say, a $40 member value over time and I'm getting $50/sale, then of course this is something that needs to be addressed.
As an affiliate manager, would you:
1. withhold payout and ignore the affiliate (what pimpmansion does)
2. contact the affiliate to inform him of the situation, and propose an alternative (such as a lower payout)
I would certainly opt for strategy #2. It's the only sensible arrangement where both parties can make money.
But oh wait .. roger and the gang are too busy playing golf to even bother thinking about how to make bank.
And that's what *REALLY* bugs me about fucking pimpmansion .. they have a site that converts pretty well, but they put absolutely no effort into running a tight ship.
I guess that's why they all use made-up names from cartoons and play golf all day, instead of learning how to run an affiliate program.
