Sure you can, you just turn off the radio and have a music collection.
I'm convinced that people who just listen to the radio don't really like music at all, they just prefer it slightly more than silence.
I can't say all radio is bad.. I've loved some college stations and whatnot over the years, and I love the community supported jazz shows, but I haven't heard normal radio in many many years.
