That's the weird part that I haven't figured out as yet. It doesn't quite work the way you would think.

I watch how younger generations interact and does appear that things are being "dumbed" down and truncated.

What these generations have grown up doing, however, is taking in and manipulating large amounts of seemingly trivial information relatively quickly. That is a unique skill that they have developed.

The upside is that when they find something that they are interested in (amongst the overload of info pushed into their faces), they will push it back out to each other exponentially until the saturation point has been reached and then they move on to the next target.

I compare it to the "Oooh....Aaah" phenomenon when people are watching fireworks. Their attention span to a certain thing only holds until the next burst of whatever else comes next...unless the initial thing has multiple sections that can hold their attention.

Businesses will simply have to adapt to this scattered way of customers choosing what is interesting to them.
