All too often cops make it sound as though a person is 'probably' guilty simply because they're "refusing to cooperate with police".
Implying that if you refuse to cooperate - you MUST be hiding your guilt.
On shows like Law & Order - whenever cops say, "He's lawyer'd up" - it always the bad guy. Rarely do you see someone who's innocent on the show "lawyering up" simply because he wants proper legal representation.
As an officer of the court myself - I have a healthy respect for cops and the law in general. But that said...I've also witnessed my share of cops who don't always play by the rules and sometimes get somewhat 'creative' with their interpretation of the facts.
