The site was most likely 301'd to the registrar, to the host, or to another page (that had pr5), during this downtime you mentioned but it looks like they allready have readjusted it if its now showing as a 3 (which I see it as).

which is the cache of BitTraffic. Which also has a pr3, which is probably where your page rank of 3 is coming from (forged).

interesting, so the pr3 that you and some of the prcheckers is showing is the actual forged one
I still think the pr5 is legit, but it might be on shaky grounds for the next pr update if he has in fact lost any backlinks or changed the internal pages that they were pointing to
