Would you get mad if someone thought you didn't know something...

but you DO know how to do it, would you get extremely offended and angry? Especially if it's something that's really easy for you and you can do it with your eyes closed.

For example, pretend it's something simple and easy like changing a battery on a car. Pretend that you know everything about a car and know how to do stuff 20x more complicated then changing a battery. Pretend you mentioned to another guy you changed a car battery and the guy said:

'"Wow, you know how to do that? I can't believe you know how to do that! You are so smart! I wish I could do that"

When actually you can do things on cars 20x more complicated then changing the car battery and changing the battery is something you could do with your eyes closed. Would you be insulted that this person thinks that you are so stupid and incompetent that you must be "smart" to change the car battery? Wouldn't you think the other person was patronizing you? Wouldn't you get offended and angry?

Or pretend it's something that every person with common sense would know like use Mapquest or burn a cd.... but then someone says "Wow you are so smart to know how to burn a cd" . Do you take offense and stay angry for a long time?
