People don't realize San Diego is actually fairly republican compared to other major metropolitan areas of Cali and that's where she was from. Finding that out, it didn't surprise me at all that she said what she said, but clearly she's either stupid or wasn't expecting a question like that or something because her answer was kind of lame. If you become Miss America, then it's not about what your family believes...you're supposed to represent the country. So if anything, if she wanted to stick to her morals, she should have basically said that given it's legal in only a handful of states so far, the rest of the country obviously isn't ready for it and can even give Prop 8 in Cali, a liberal state, as an example to that.

I think the question was leading though and Perez should get some flack for that. He may as well have asked "Look bitch, 4 states have legalized gay marriage - will you push the others to do it too if you get the crown or will I have to run up there and strangle you with my manbitch hands?"
