McDonalds has given away free coffee to seniors for decades. Nice little perk to get people in the front door to buy their over-refried garbage.
Chris Rock said something once, and this is not verbatim, but he said something along the lines of giving cars away free and charging $40/gallon for gas. Same applies.
You couldn't pay me enough to eat in a Mickey D's. Even coffee.
