i download a file form that session i have the EXACT SAME FILE as everyone else in the session (from the tracker stats broadcast to the client so it know of potential sources for the pieces)

So in the example i gave you, i can look at every file and see what it is. (or if you are not a moron and know how to automagically generate a unique hash code via bit by bit scanning uniquely tag each file)
And i can get a count of the number of times that particular file has been downloaded within that session.


To find out how many times a particular movie/tv episode/porn episode is download i add up all the counts from all the sessions where the file is downloaded.

So No you don't need to violate anyones privacy to get an accurate count. Only an idiot would believe that.
